Henrik Rehr's vibrant work comes from a career in drawing, graphic novel illustration and experimentation in fine art. He is one of a growing number of image-makers whose work occupies the space between graphic design and fine art and who uses both traditional drawing and digital tools.

Born in Odense, Denmark in 1964. the he has lived in the U.S. since 1992. Rehr has exhibited in New York City, Copenhagen and Reykjavik and has done over 20 graphic novels as well as numerous illustrations. He lives in New York City with his wife and two sons.

Artist's Statement: "Drawing is, in my opinion, the primal language for the visual artist, the medium in which not only one’s style but one’s artistic essence most nakedly is expressed. I initially work in pen, brush and ink and then scan the images into the computer. The works are finished in Photoshop or Painter, often I just add details, colors or grey shades, but sometimes I change the compositions entirely. The method of mixing ink on paper with the computer and thus blending classic with new tools appeals to me. Having no favorite colors, no favorite styles and no favorite words, I do find that the most important letter of the alphabet is the question mark."
